When was the last time you picked up the Bible and actually enjoyed reading it? For me, that used to be rare occurrence as I would always feel drained after reading only a couple of verses. At one point, I even thought that it wasn’t important or necessary to constantly read, but after being inspired by Melanie Dickerson’s book, The Merchant’s Daughter (my review of this book will be up next week), I decided to start looking at the Bible in a new way. This meant finding a Bible that didn’t have highlights and notes written all over it, and from a version I had never read before.

The battle began as soon as I took my first breath. Coming into this world, I didn’t know what to expect or the challenges I would face in the years to come, but God did. From the very beginning, I didn’t just have my parents eyes on me but two others, one who is good and one who is evil.
God is so good! He has shown that His hands are on my family throughout the week. From my migraine finally receding, to the outcome of the court case. I am in awe at the wonderful things God is doing in our lives, and how He is using us to shine His power and love to anyone we cross paths with.
Letting go may seem like a simple thing to do, but when the time comes to give everything over to God, it’s tough. People tell me all the time that God is in control and will work everything out for good, and I believe that. I’m just finding it a little tricky to wait patiently on Him
Have you ever found yourself asking why? Why did my boyfriend break up with me? Why did one of my relatives have to die? Why has my best friend turned against me? Or better yet, why am I still sick?
