Some days I feel like I’m as fast as a hare, getting everything done really quickly and not collapsing until the evening; but then, some days I’m like a sloth, unable to move faster than 1 mph or complete any of my work.
I’m not usually this slow or lazy but I think it has something to do with the work my current chiropractor is doing on my neck and spinal cord. Apparently sleeping is a good sign that you’re healing, so I guess I’m going in the right direction.
Though I’ve been quite slow this week, I did get a couple of things done. Editing was a lot easier than last week. All the skills I had learned at the beginning of this year came back to me and I was able to edit all the testimonies my dad had recorded while we were in the States. Granted, I still need to learn how to use the denoiser, as some of the videos have a lot of background noise, guess that’ll be my job for this coming week.
I also drove to the chiropractor twice this week. It’s quite a schlep, haul, to get to this chiropractor, but I think it’s worth it for now. Each time I go, I feel an instant relief! As the days go on, I can tell that there are improvements.
On Thursday, house cleaning day, after taking a long nap I was able to clean the bathrooms without having major pain in my head. I was also able to listen to music louder than I have been. It was nice to have some of the pain lifted and actually feel normal for the first time in weeks.
Another major improvement was that I was able to go to the movie theater for the first time since getting home! Mom and I didn’t want to drive home, after having my chiropractor appointment, without doing something worthwhile and going to see a movie we had both been dying to see seemed like the perfect thing to do.
This movie was called The Secret Life of Pets. If you haven’t seen it, I totally recommend you do. The Secret Life of Pets was super adorable and also very relatable. The two main dogs, Max and Duke, were exactly like our dogs, Joey and Dolce, and the rabbit, Snowball, reminded me of my bunny, Marshmallow. During the film, Mom and I laughed so hard, because of all the similarities, we cried!
Last week had been such a breakthrough week that I was a bit disappointed the same thing didn’t happen this week, but nothing ever happens the same. I, unfortunately, didn’t read the Bible as much as I did last week, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t learn anything.
After finishing the books of Daniel and Corinthians, I started reading Genesis. There are so many parts of the Old Testament I haven’t read that I don’t want to continue in the New Testament until I understand what everyone is talking about.
The entire Bible is connected. I believe that the Old Testament is just as important as the New, so we should read and study both just as vigorously as the other. I have almost finished reading the entire New Testament, but there have been many times I haven’t understood what I was reading because it was talking about something that had been written in the Old Testament.
Because of all these questions, I’m going to try to start reading the Bible from the beginning so I can have a better understanding. Like my dad says, “You start a book from the very beginning, not the middle or the end, so why do we not do that with the Bible?”
Another reason I didn’t spend as much time with God as I did last week was because I was talking with friends for the latter part of my days, which is not necessarily a bad thing! Anthony and I finally got to catch up, after two months of being MIA and talk about what had been going on in our lives. I also got to get my daily doses of Gabriella and Jeremy, both were very entertaining.
Ever since Gabriella’s visit here, we haven’t lost touch. We text almost every day and keep the laughs going with our crazy snapchat pictures. :P Jeremy and I also keep each other entertained with our nerdy jokes and funny snapchats. I love having friends who make me laugh, and they definitely do! Hehe
At the end of this week, my dad drove to the airport to pick up our long time friends, Rowan and Jackie. My dad has known them since he was sixteen, so we have a lot of history. Apparently, they’ve known me since I was a baby, but I only got to know them really well in the last 5-6 years.
I love Rowan and Jackie very much! They are an awesome couple and always know how to put a smile on my face. Jackie is a drama teacher, so we instantly clicked after I saw her bookshelf of classics! Rowan reminds me of Mr.Bean so we automatically hit it off because he is just like my papa!
For years we’ve been trying to persuade Jackie and Rowan to come over to Israel for a visit, and they finally here! I’m excited to plan day trips with them, but we have to be conscious of Jackie’s bad back. She had a nasty fall three weeks ago and is in a lot of pain (please keep Jackie in prayer).
As this new week begins, I’m praying that I’ll have the energy to continue my training in editing. There is so much I still need to learn and really want to master this, so having the willpower would be much appreciated.
Along with editing, I really want to read more. I have started so many books in the last month, but do you think I’ve been able to finish them? No! Each time I go to read I feel drained and can’t handle the technicalities of the nonfiction I’m reading, while the fiction book makes me a bit confused. I love reading so I don’t understand what this reading block is about!
Of course, I’m still continually praying that YHVH will reveal more amazing things about Himself to me. I’m really enjoying reading Genesis and can’t wait to learn more interesting facts that I didn’t know about before. I want to learn at least one new thing a day, so that doesn’t seem too impossible.
Hebrews 6:10-12, “For Elohim is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love which you have shown toward His Name, in that you have attended to the set-apart ones, and still attend. And we desire that each one of you show the same eagerness, to the entire confirmation of expectation until the end, in order that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through belief and patience inherit the promises.”
