My week with Gabriella was a lot of fun. We didn’t do much, but it felt like a lot. It was so nice to spend time with my cousin, Aunt and Uncle. Together, we all went to the Sky Garden in London which was absolutely beautiful! We stayed to watch the sunset and then watch the entire city light up; it was breath-taking! We also went to the Mad Hatter Tea Party and it was delicious. I drunk ten cups of tea there!! And ate tons of cakes, of course.
The other things we did were shopping (of course), visiting with family members, having a picnic, and chilling at home. The shopping went on for two days and got quite tiring. I enjoyed getting dressed by Gab and my Auntie because I wanted a new style that was more girly. Amazingly I liked lots of the things they chose though they are quite short. My parents will probably not approve of the shirts, but I’m almost eighteen and think that it’s time I started running my own life instead of depending on my parents. I also got my first grown up handbag, cute shoes, and awesome jewelry.
It was nice to see most of my family members. I got to spend the afternoon with my mom’s step sister’s house and play with her new kittens, Candy and Floss. They were adorable and very playful! We had a lovely lunch together, it was good to catch up with her. My other cousin, who looks like a young Prince William, didn’t talk much when we were over at my step-aunt’s house, but it was still good to see him.
I even enjoyed spending time with my mom’s dad. We haven’t had the best relationship because I barely saw him growing up and he wasn’t exactly child friendly. I’m closer with my mom’s stepdad and have always had bad memories about my mom’s dad, so I was surprised to see the difference in my Grandpa. From being the mean man I remember, he’s softened a lot! He’s cuddly now and just enjoys spending time with us. I say that he’s like a good wine, matured and become nicer with age. We had a really good time together and I can’t wait to see him again.
Our picnic took place at the Olympic Park. Gabriella and I made a group chat to see if any of her friends wanted to join us and only one replied with a yes. It was sort of disheartening to not get a response from Adam, but he and Gab aren’t on that good of speaking terms right now so it made sense. It was still a great time and Gab’s friend, Amy, was really sweet. We all talked for ages about what’s going on in their friend group, school, and life in general. It was nice to have a girl time, I’m not used to it since all my friends are boys.
Every night Gabriella and I would watch a movie and they were ones that made us happy and reminded us of old memories. Some of those movies were; A Cinderella Story (best film ever!), Chalet Girl, Letters to Juliet (Love it!), and Home (adorable). It was great to just relax because then we had the opportunity to talk, which always turned into a giggle fest because we talk about the strangest things.
Of course, I couldn’t go to sleep without talking to Jem so I went to sleep extra late every night. It was totally worth it though! Just hearing his voice puts a smile on my face. I would also wake up to lots of cute good morning texts from him. :) I have a constant smile on my face when I think about Jem.
The trip to England was a great time and I definitely needed the break. It was nice to be away from the parents and just have a bit of freedom from them. I feel a bit bad that I didn’t call them very much, but I wanted us all to have a break from one another. Now that I’m getting closer to being eighteen, I’m biting at the bit and ready to be set free. I want to get through this year and hopefully move out as soon as possible! I love my parents, but it’s time for me to leave the coop, which I’m super excited about!
