Through these two or so months, I've been busy with school, learning to drive (which I shall expand on soon), walking and training my dog Joey, chilling with my rabbit Marshmallow, packing to travel (which I am actually going right now), and everything else in between.
The great thing is that I have finally made it to the halfway point on my school year :D. It seems like it has taken ages, but it really hasn’t. Most schools have a break in between terms but I’ve just kept trucking for four months straight. It’s been difficult at times, but I’ve persevered and the reward is the best!
My reward, for working so hard at school, is a trip to the UK! I’m actually in Scotland right now and it’s amazing. The weather is perfect. To some it’s really cold, I mean it’s only like 3 degrees celsius here, but it feels wonderful after living in a hot country for months. I’m spending a week with my family in Scotland and then flying down to England to see the rest of my family. :) So far I’ve gone shopping, chilled with my second favorite dog named Holly, and visited St Andrews.
Holly is my aunt’s Cocker Spaniel and she’s a wee honey ;) I met Holly over four years ago and we’ve made this bond that no one can break. After my aunt married my now uncle, they went on a month honeymoon and they allowed me to look after Holly. :) In that month, I walked, fed, played, and trained Holly. Ever since then, every time I see Holly, she goes crazy and cuddles me for over thirty minutes.
St. Andrews was awesome! My Aunt, Uncle, and I went to one of the four most famous golf course that are there and had lunch. While having lunch, there was a small xmas tree on our table, so when my aunt and uncle weren’t looking I tried, very discreetly, to put the tree on the floor since I don't celebrate Xmas. This however didn’t go as planned, so for the rest of the lunch I had to just try to ignore the tree that my aunt had put back onto the table. After lunch we walked along the beach for almost two hours. Holly and her daughter Poppy were loving it. We were wearing about five layers but the wind against my face felt so refreshing :)
Yesterday went to church with my Grandma and it was very interesting to say the least. There was a lot about xmas that was said and the teaching was completely wrong. I sat there for a bit over an hour and couldn’t believe what the preacher thought the Prodigal Son parable meant. Then the communion came along and I couldn’t believe my ears when the preacher told everyone that the table that held the tiny grape juice cups and bread was God’s holy table. I had to restrain myself from laughing out loud. The one good thing of the whole church experience was seeing how people observe Christianity today and I also got to see all the people I’ve known for years and catch up with them.
That afternoon the rest of my Scottish family came over. I do get one with my cousins but only when I am staying in Scotland. We can socialize and stuff but if I try to talk to them on Facebook, I have to keep the conversation going because they don’t really give any input. It’s also difficult with the different beliefs. They all eat unkosher and celebrate all these pagan holidays and I’m just the odd one out. I don’t think they really understand what my parents and I believe. I just hope one day they will understand the root of where we’re coming from. :)
Hopefully I will be able to write another blog post soon and maybe even finish all the Movie Vs. Book reviews I’ve started. :P
