Some of the highlights of my year have been: having my family come and visit us, going to America, seeing Anthony graduate, making new friends and growing closer to old ones, going to the best party EVER, reading the most books I’ve ever read in a year, and all the other memories I’ve stored in my brain.
Family has been an important part of 2014 for me. Without my family, I don’t know where I would be. They are my refuge and my stronghold. No matter what happens in my life or even theirs, we know that we all have each others’ backs.
Gabriella is the best cousin I could ever ask for, she’s practically my sister (or as we say, twins just with an age difference). I love her so much and wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world. Through this year, I have seen her grow into an amazing young woman. I’m so proud of the decisions she has made and the responsibilities she’s taken on. She is my inspiration and I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store for her.
My other family members, such as my parents and grandparents, are just amazing. They all helped me throughout this year whenever I needed them. I couldn’t ask for a better family, I know everybody says that, but it’s true. I could go on and on about how amazing they are and what true role models they are. I’m watching them live in adulthood and am learning a lot from them. I’m so thankful for the year that we have had and wouldn’t change any part of it.
My friends have also been absolutely amazing. I have lost some friends this year, but I’m no longer sad about it. Friends come and go, but true friends stay by your side always. These people are: Anthony, Nathan, Isabella, Lucas, and Blake. They have all helped me when I needed it and are the best people that I have met, beside Gabriella of course ;).
Traveling has always been a part of my life and I hope that this coming year will bring even more trips my way. The trips I have taken in 2014 were great! My time in America showed me that there are people out there that believe the same things as my family and are actually young. We have all these old people coming to our meetings on Shabbat and it was nice to go to a place where there were lots of young people.
It can be scary to meet new people, I’m usually quite shy, but this year has proved to be a year of new friendships. I met Jeremy at the beginning of 2014 and that relationship has been a roller coaster, in a good way of course. He has been a great friend to me, once he came out of his shell that is. We had such great fun when he was staying over here. I just hope he’s prepared to be defeated at pool the next time I see him. ;)
This year I have had the pleasure to get to know Nathan more. He is hilarious and whenever I’m around him I end up becoming a comedian, don’t ask me how it just happens. We don’t stop laughing when we’re together. He’s an awesome friend and just a great guy. I can’t wait to chill with him in our onesies in this new year.
The other friend I’ve made this year was Blake. Blake is a great and really funny friend. He’s one of the only people I know to use words like hither, alas, and cogitate in a conversation. He’s a character and I can’t wait to learn more about him in this next year. :)
Of course, Lucas and Adam have also been amazing. I’ve gotten to know so much better this last year and I’m so thankful for that. It sucks that I live so far away and only get to see them once of twice a year, but that just helps us cherish the time we do have when we’re together. They are such great guys and I’m so happy that Gabriella has them to lean one whenever she needs them.
If you have read my previous blog posts you would already know about Gabriella and Scarlett’s amazing Sweet 16. It was by far the best party I have ever been to and would go back there in a heartbeat. Hopefully in 2015 I’ll be able to catch up with everyone again when I visit next. :)
Books have also been an important part of my year. I did set myself a challenge to read 30 or more books. I only completed 29, but for me that’s amazing. I’ve never read so many books in a year and I am very proud of myself.
This coming year I have reset my challenge to read 30 or more books, but on top of that I have a chart that I need to follow about the types of books I am going to read. I found this list while I was on Pinterest the other night and hope I can do it. This is the link: http://www.popsugar.com/love/Reading-Challenge-2015-36071458?crlt.pid=camp.RTlcdYOWNcmE
I am so excited to be going into 2015 and can’t wait to see what God has in store for me and my family’s lives. I really hope to do more traveling and making even more friends, hopefully ones that live close to me. I also hope to get lots more school done so I can get it out of the way. I have a big feeling that another great year is approaching and just can’t wait to experience all the things that are coming my way. Happy New Year to all my readers, whoever you may be! :P
