We haven’t been back from America more than a week and we’re busy packing up our house and getting it ready for the movers. Who knew we had so much stuff! I threw out so much junk that I still can’t believe how much I have.
For me, packing up was pretty easy, it just took time because I kept looking through all my stuff reliving the memories that accompanied the objects. For my mom, packing is harder and she didn’t know where to begin. It took her ages to pack up one room let alone the whole house. My dad is having difficulty because he has a hernia, so all the bending and lifting has been very difficult for him, but we’ve all managed.
When the movers came it was a relief to have strong guys to carry everything down. The men were all Russian and super sweet. By the end of the day we were like a team. We all helped each other and got a whole truck loaded with almost everything from the house. If only that was the end of the day, but no, we then had to drive to the studio to unload everything!
The unloading was much quicker and easier than the loading, but it was still really strenuous. I didn’t want the guys to have to do all the work so I helped put things in the house, but the guy who was passing everyone everything out of the truck would only give me the light stuff until he realized that I wasn’t as fragile as he thought.
The head mover became quite upset with me, however, because I wanted them to dissemble my wardrobe and bed and take everything out of my studio bedroom to make room for all my other stuff. He couldn’t believe how much work it was and was always complaining that I was trying to kill him and his men, but then he would compliment me. I really enjoyed bossing the men around and they were so sweet about it.
When the end of the day approached, I couldn’t wait to take a shower because I stunk and was drenched with sweat. One great thing about all that moving was that I lost the weight I wanted and my stomach looks all cute again. :P Plus, I’ve gotten more muscle in my arm.
It was so nice to have a relaxing evening with Isabella and Nathan after all the moving that had happened in the day. Using their shower that night, I felt like I came out a new woman. To make the night even better, we watched a hilarious movie, Spy. If you haven’t seen that movie and love comedies than that is a movie to watch.
Now the next challenge is to set up my room and get it looking presentable. The only problem is that I left for England two days later! I’m having such a great week with Gabriella!
